Corporate Relocation  /  How It Works

A four-stage framework
adapted to the agreed scope.

Four stages, adapted to the scope agreed with HR before anything starts.

Step 01

Briefing & scope

We align with HR on the employee profile, the start date, the family situation, the destination and the agreed scope of support.

Step 02

Pre-arrival preparation

Document preparation, permit groundwork, a written timeline and temporary accommodation, where included in the agreed scope, before the employee travels.

Step 03

Arrival & installation

Registration, health insurance and the practical set-up of daily life in Switzerland, with housing and essential services, where included in the agreed scope.

Step 04

Settled & supported

Handover to ongoing support, where it is part of the agreed scope, with a contact available during the agreed support period.

Step 01

Briefing & scope

An initial discussion with HR helps us define the assignment. We confirm everything in writing before any work begins.

  • What we ask you forEmployee profile, citizenship (it determines which permit route applies), family situation, destination, start date and your internal relocation policy or budget.
  • What we come back withA defined scope, the package that fits, the responsibilities on each side and a quotation.
  • What is agreed in writingIncluded services, exclusions, timeline and the contact person for the assignment.

When to involve us. Ideally at contract signature. The interval between signature and start date is the working time available for permits, housing and preparation, the longer it is, the more can be completed before the employee arrives.

Step 02

Pre-arrival preparation

The phase that shapes how the first month goes. Much of the preparation can take place before arrival.

Permit groundwork

Preparation of the required permit documentation and coordination of the submission with the employer, employee and competent authorities, as applicable.

Documents

We identify what has to be translated, legalised or certified, and in which order, before it is needed.

Temporary accommodation

Where included in the agreed scope: arranged for the arrival period, reducing the need to find permanent housing under time pressure.

Home search

Where included in the agreed scope: shortlisting, viewings and the landlord dossier in the agreed area and budget.

Written timeline

A dated sequence shared with HR and the employee, so both know what happens and when.

Employee briefing

The employee receives a plain-language explanation of what will happen in their first weeks in Switzerland.

Step 03

Arrival & installation

The applicable sequence and deadlines vary according to the employee profile, canton and municipality. Within the agreed scope we run that sequence together with the employee rather than sending instructions.

  • Registration at the communePlanned around the statutory deadline, with the documents prepared in advance.
  • Health insuranceAdministrative support with Swiss health-insurance registration or, where applicable, the exemption process.
  • Banking and servicesSupport with the bank-account application and required documentation; approval remains with the selected bank. Mobile, internet and utilities where included in the agreed scope.
  • Lease and handoverSupport with the lease-signing process and apartment handover. Deposit account and handover protocol, where included in the agreed scope.

Why the order matters. Some relocation steps depend on documents or confirmations from earlier stages. The exact requirements and sequence vary according to the employee profile, canton, municipality and service provider.

Step 04

Settled & supported

The assignment moves into steady state, with support continuing for the period that was agreed.

Continued contact

One primary contact person, supported by our team when necessary.

Administrative follow-up

Address changes and support with official correspondence as it arises. Permit-renewal support where an extended support assignment includes it.

Family support

Practical orientation for a partner and children, where included in the agreed scope.
